Two Warm Hearth Village (WHV) leaders have been appointed to important university boards, strengthening strong ties to Virginia Tech and Radford University.
Tambra Dixon, Vice President of Philanthropy & Strategic Growth for Warm Hearth Village (WHV) has joined the advisory board of the Engagement Center for Creative Aging (ECCA) at Virginia Tech. The two organizations have enjoyed a strategic partnership for many years and Dixon, along with other board members, will provide counsel on programmatic and strategic issues facing ECCA, advocate for aging issues and explore research collaborations to benefit the center’s work.
A senior living community offering all levels of care, Warm Hearth’s strategic objectives are closely related to those of the ECCA as it works to provide care and innovative programming to residents and their families living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The strengthened partnership will surely produce enhanced benefits for the entire community through shared learning and experience.
Ellen Rorrer, Marketing Consultant for Independent Living at WHV has joined the Alumni Association Board of Directors at Radford University. Her term began in July and she will work with other Radford Alumni board members to broaden alumni engagement through a variety of initiatives while supporting the Radford University Strategic Plan and Mission; Invest in People. Invest in Programs. Invest in Society. Invest in the Future.
WHV and Radford University have a long-standing partnership with research collaboration, and opportunities for students through internships and volunteerism. This partnership binds generations together through shared learning and experience.
These appointments highlight Warm Hearth’s commitment to education, innovations, and lifelong learning, while growing partnerships that benefit seniors and families well beyond the Village. It is an honor to have both Ellen and Tambra appointed to serve on a university board. “This is another reflection of the values we hold dear at Warm Hearth Village. Both of their insights will help to foster innovation, strategy, and community impact,” said William Lester, President & CEO.
