Warm Hearth Village Residents and Fitness Members Rule the Court During First Annual Pickleball Challenge

October 27, 2026

Bragging rights officially belong to the residents and fitness members of Warm Hearth Village after they delivered a decisive 8-2 victory over staff in the 2026 Warm Hearth Village (WHV) and Warm Hearth at Home Staff vs. Residents Pickleball Challenge on October 14.

The friendly competition brought the groups together for an afternoon of spirited play, laughter, and community camaraderie on the pickleball court behind the Warm Hearth Village Center. While both teams entered the contest determined to claim victory, it was the residents who proved they had the winning strategy, taking eight of the 10 games and leaving little doubt about who reigns supreme on the court.

The challenge featured 10 games played to nine points, with one point awarded for each game won. Residents quickly established momentum and maintained control throughout the afternoon, securing an impressive 8-2 final score and earning yearlong bragging rights.

“Everyone had a great time, and the energy on the courts was fantastic,” said Marcus Burks, Fitness Director. “This event was a perfect example of the active lifestyle, friendly competition, and strong sense of community that make this village such a special place.” He added, “I heard some employees say they planned to practice to get ready for next year. Just the kind of healthy competition we want.”

As pickleball continues to grow in popularity among players of all ages, events like this challenge showcase the enthusiasm residents bring to staying active, connected, and engaged and staff’s commitment to keeping things interesting.
