The Warm Hearth Foundation is proud to introduce the WE CARE Pantry, a new employee resource created to provide simple, confidential, and helpful support when it’s needed most.
The WE CARE Pantry offers pantry staples and personal care items to employees throughout Warm Hearth Village. Whether facing an unexpected expense, a challenging season, or simply needing a little extra support between pay periods, employees may access the pantry easily and confidentially through their supervisor or administrator.
The initiative was developed in response to employee feedback and through the collaborative efforts of the Employee Engagement Committee, Human Resources, philanthropy staff, administrators, and employee leaders across campus. Together, these groups identified an opportunity to strengthen employee support resources and create a program that reflects Warm Hearth’s commitment to caring for its workforce.
The Employee Engagement Committee played a key role in shaping the pantry’s development. Through conversations with employees and ongoing evaluation of workplace needs, committee members recognized that rising costs for everyday essentials such as groceries, fuel, and utilities were creating challenges for some employees and their families. The WE CARE Pantry was established as a practical and compassionate response to those concerns.
To help launch the initiative, Warm Hearth Village hosted a pantry collection drive that combined generosity with a little friendly competition. Departments were challenged to build the most creative display with their donations, transforming a wide variety of goods into eye-catching creations while collecting essential pantry items and personal care products.
The contest generated enthusiasm across campus and served as a reminder that when the Warm Hearth community comes together, meaningful support can be delivered in both impactful and enjoyable ways. The donations collected through the drive helped establish the pantry’s initial inventory and provided a strong start for the program.
“At Warm Hearth, caring for our employees matters too,” said Chelsea Keating, Associate Director of Community Engagement at Warm Hearth Village. “Our employees dedicate themselves every day to caring for residents, supporting one another, and strengthening our community. The WE CARE Pantry is one way we can provide additional support and remind employees that they are valued and cared for as well.”
Designed with dignity and accessibility in mind, the pantry operates through a confidential process that allows employees to receive assistance without unnecessary barriers. The goal is to make support readily available while preserving privacy and respect for every individual who utilizes the resource.
The Warm Hearth Foundation will work alongside community partners, donors, and supporters to help sustain the pantry and ensure it remains a meaningful resource for employees. As the program grows, the Employee Engagement Committee will continue providing input and feedback to help guide future enhancements and ensure the pantry remains responsive to employee needs.
The WE CARE Pantry reflects Warm Hearth Village’s broader commitment to fostering a culture of compassion, wellbeing, and community. By investing in employee support programs, Warm Hearth continues to demonstrate that caring extends beyond residents and into every aspect of the organization.
Employees seeking access to the pantry may reach out directly to their supervisor or administrator for confidential assistance.
