Fitness Equipment Orientation:
An opportunity to learn the layout of the current weight room as well as proper set-up and use of all strength, cardiovascular, and flexibility equipment.
Personal Training $30 an hour:
Assessment of current workout program, help with developing personal fitness goals, and development of an individualized fitness program that will help you accomplish your goals.
Description of Fitness Classes
FIT FOR LIFE
This class focuses on strength and endurance using weights and greater repetitions. Full range of motion, lower body movements, arms and shoulders to improve every day strength and functionality. Abdominal strengthening exercises will also be included in this class. Will use physio balls, bands & free weights.
A yoga class especially for those who find it difficult to get down on the floor. Participants enjoy the benefits of relaxation and increased flexibility from practicing yoga while sitting in a chair. The class will focus on breath work, stretches, supported strengthening poses and meditation.
NEW BACK AND BODY
Healthy Backs is a class designed for anyone looking to safely & efficiently strengthen their back and body. It is a great way to prevent injuries from happening as well as to rehabilitate. It strategically works your body from head to toe, and works all of your joint’s range of motion. This is a blend of weight training, stretching, balance and breathing exercises that leave you feeling better with every class.
POSTURE, BALANCE, GAIT
A class for everyone!!!!!! We work on body mechanics and muscle memory through body weight/awareness and strength training.
DANCE FOR WELLNESS AND WELL-BEING
This class is appropriate for anyone who loves music and desires to explore the healing powers of, and joy within, movement regardless of whether they are living with mobility challenges or not. No dance experience is necessary. The moves explored can be done sitting as well as standing. These classes serve to provide an environment and opportunity for all to enjoy the energizing, enriching and empowering benefits of dance and music in a welcoming community setting.
Ai Chi is an aquatic Mind-Body program that is the perfect cross-training activity. It improves core strength, circulation, breathing, balance, flexibility, energy, stamina, relaxation, tranquility, awareness, and focus.
Open to all…..consists of lower intensity exercises to promote optimum joint flexibility, muscle strength, endurance, coordination and balance. The soothing warmth and buoyancy of warm water make it a safe, ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness. This class is also an excellent option for those looking for a low-impact exercise program.
Get energized with a great, fun workout! This shallow water workout includes calisthenics style movements with variations of upper and lower body resistive moves. You will march, jog, kick, jack and jump through the water to create resistance to improve cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance and flexibility.
Surprise….a mixture of fun for all levels. Water allows participants to perform effective, low-impact exercise that puts no strain or pressure on tender joints. We will be working our bodies and brainsJ
Come play with us! All levels accepted in this pick-up style volleyball game played in the shallow end of the pool.
Residents are encouraged to bring family members of any age to enjoy the Fitness Center pool! Residents must be present to sign in.
Bring a friend, bring a buddy…..a resident lead class to keep everyone moving and enjoying the anti-gravity effect on the joints. Staff will be around for assistance and questions.
LAP SWIM AND OPEN SWIM
When aquatic classes are not in session, the pool is open for lap swim, open swim, and water walking.
When aquatic classes are in session, limited space is available for individual use of the pool. NO OPEN SWIM DURING AI CHI! Please plan accordingly.
