Food Lion Grant Will Benefit Warm Hearth Village Seniors Through Warm Hearth Foundation

June 28, 2022

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation supports a variety of hunger-related initiatives, including “Feeding the Hungry” grants each year. The foundation has given away more than $10 million across Food Lion’s operating area since its inception. Recently the foundation awarded a $500 grant to the Warm Hearth Foundation to support Micah’s Pantry. Micah’s Pantry, located on the Warm Hearth Village campus, opened this May and operates as a storefront to help fight food insecurity by providing food and meals to village seniors who meet Federal low-income guidelines. The Micah’s Program at Warm Hearth Village includes a variety of opportunities like fresh produce, prepared meals, gardens on campus to grow and tend, shelf-stable groceries, pet food and personal care items.

“We are so grateful for this gift and for being able to work alongside others in our local community who share our passion for making a difference,” said Karen Nelson, Associate Director of Development.
