Experiential Learning
We have relationships with departments at VT and Radford University that place students with experienced staff interacting with residents in different care settings. Students engage anywhere from 16 to 250 hours a semester to meet educational class requirements and gain real-world experience in different areas of service.
Collaborative Projects
We partner with Capstone students and others seeking opportunities to apply their skills through meaningful, real-world projects. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we work with students and faculty to identify projects that align their skills and learning goals with the needs and opportunities of our community. The result is a collaborative experience that gives students valuable hands-on learning while bringing new ideas, perspectives, and expertise to our campus.
Advancing the Experience of Aging
We welcome partnerships with researchers, faculty, and students who share our interest in improving the experience of aging. Our campus offers opportunities to explore questions that deepen our understanding of older adulthood and contribute to better ways of living, supporting well-being, and building community as we age. We seek research that aligns with our goal of helping people live well throughout their later years, particularly projects with the potential to translate knowledge into meaningful improvements in the lives of older adults—both within our community and beyond.
